I Live in London Should I Apply for Indian Passport Renewal by Walk In or Postal?

I need to renew my Indian passport and I currently live in London. The BLS office is quite far from where I live, so I’m considering applying by post instead of going in person. For those who have recently renewed their Indian passport, which option did you choose? Is it better to apply by post, or is it worth travelling to the BLS office for a walk in application?
